Utilizing the durable Marathon EX carbon/ceramic filter element, the microfilter effectively removes bacteria (such as E. coli, Shigella, salmonella, and cholera), protozoa (such as giardia, cryptosporidium, and amoebae), and particulate, while also eliminating unpleasant tastes and odors caused by organic compounds like iodine, chlorine, and pesticides.

Thanks to its innovative AirSpring Accumulator, the MSR MiniWorks EX is capable of pumping one liter of water per minute, a flow rate that can be easily renewed in the field without any tools. This high-performance filtration system meets the stringent NSF protocol P231, removing 99.9999% of bacteria and 99.9% of protozoa throughout the filter's replaceable cartridge life of 2,000 liters of water.

Designed for frequent and heavy use, the microfilter is compatible with a wide variety of water containers, including Nalgene, Camelback, and MSR Dromedary Bags (sold separately). It can be easily attached to the threaded lids of these containers, or the water can be pumped directly into a hydration reservoir drinking tube.
