Using the filters is simple: remove the bottom cap, place it in the water you'd like to filter, let the bottom part soak for about 20 seconds, remove the top cap, and sip. After each use, remember to blow air through the mouthpiece to keep it from clogging, and dry it thoroughly before storing it.

To filter water using a bottle, find one with threading that matches the thread on the bottom of the filter, fill it with the water you'd like to filter, and attach it to the bottom of the filter. Flip the water bottle upside down, and when the flow slows down, either squeeze the bottle or let air back into it. Avoid dropping the filter on hard ground or letting it freeze with water still inside, as this may damage the membrane or the body of the filter.
